Art Education as if the Environment Matters

The National Art Education Association‘s annual conference is in New York City this year, and we were happy to host a pre-conference symposium in our Education Center. For five hours today, intrepid art educators met to present papers and poster sessions on issues of art, education, and ecology. The name of the symposium was: Earth Education: Art Education as if the Environment Matters.

Featured presents included:

Tom Anderson, Florida State University, USA

Jan van Boeckel, Aalto University, Finland

Rita Irwin, University of British Columbia, Canada

Peter London, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, USA

Pirkko Pohjakallio, Aalto University, Finland

Anniina Suominen Guyas, Florida State University, USA

Valerie Triggs, University of British Columbia, Canada
