The Ever Present Ice Buddha

In March a larger than life Buddha made entirely of ice sat at the base of the spiral staircase. Though he did not sit there very long- quickly melting and morphing into a ghostly ice sculpture over the weekend, I can’t help but still feel the presence of such a monumental impermanence.

Just this weekend on a evening stroll back from dinner, I ran into some familiar figures on 59th Street as they sat overlooking Central Park from a cozy jewelry store window!

I look forward to finding new iterations and new forms of the “Ice Buddha” is the least likely places!
