Evaluation: K-12 Visitor Profiles

The academic year runs from September to August, and summer is a time for the School Programs team to reflect on, evaluate, and improve what we do during 60-minute gallery tours with K-12 groups for the coming year. Throughout the year, we send an online survey to every school group that visits the museum for one of these tours, and ask a range of questions to find out more about the teachers and students we serve.

While we are in the midst crunching the numbers now, I wanted to share some of the raw data from the 2010-2011 school year. This is a small sample of what we asked; notice which subject areas and outreach strategies are driving the majority of school group visits.
