Photo of the Week: Samsara Night-Teens Event

Academic Integrity Sinking in an Ocean of Temptation. Photo taken by the Rubin Museum of Art, 2013.

On March 9th, The Rubin Museum hosted a teen event based on the Buddhist concept of Samsāra. Saṃsāra is the idea that our realities can be explained using a wheel depicting the different worlds. The 6th floor of the museum was the Hell world. We made miniature models of things we thought were wrong with the world, then tied them to related problems, forming a hellish-web of bad news. At the end of the night, we stomped hell to bits. The artist, Max Liboiron, will use the broken pieces to build a better world in her next installation. www.maxliboiron.com
